Fuel pick up and sealing prep |
|
|
Two week hiatus. In the meanwhile, ordered syringes online and a second pint of sealant. I will probably have too much but at $40, I'd rather have left overs than not enough. Lessons from session one are to use all steel tool or disposable tools, ie. wood. It took a little while to get the fuel pickup tube oriented properly and I mangled one of the support brackets. I mixed a couple spoonfuls of sealant and first job was riveting the support bracket. I used the syringe to put a 1/16" bead around the base of the bracket where it would sit, then a bead around the base of the rivet factory head. There was a lot that oozed out when riveting but sealed up and cleaned up with MEK. |
