Bending Elevator Tabs |
|
|
Started off by cleco'ing together the underlying structure and the skins. Then measured out the fit of the two tabs that close off the elevator opposite the trim tab. I started the bending by using a hand seamer, then pushed them almost closed with a large block of wood. Once the tabs were almost closed, I used a rivet gun with the large round flat rivet shank to hammer them into position. It worked very well. :-) The nail in the picture was a tack I drove into the wood to allow me to position it before starting. I will save the block for the other end of the trim tab. |
