First condition inspection |
|
|
As preparation for the airworthiness inspection, I was required to perform a condition inspection. Most of the inspection was straightforward, but I had never performed a differential compression check on an engine before. Fortunately my friend Mike was able to help me out with this, and I was pleased to see that I hadn't screwed up the engine with all my full throttle test and tuning. My numbers lowest number was 76/80 on cylinders 1 and 6. The other cylinders were 77/80. Other than finding a serious issue with the engine before the first flight, I doubt the specific numbers are worth much, as I expect them to change once the engine gets broke in. Everything else is as I remembered it being when the tech couseler visited a few weeks ago. Doing the next inspection will be more interesting. |
