Preping for HS assembly |
|
|
Updrilled Horizontal Stabilizer skins with a #33 bit, just like I had been practicing. Decided it is time to start getting ready to prime and rivet, but cannot finish HS before I get the elevator finished because the piano hinge on the elevator is used for final alignment of the piano hinge on the HS. So, I decided to at least complete the HS rib assembly. This means disassembling, deburring, buffing, cleaning, dimpling, eching, and priming. I got the disassembling part, and most of the buffing, scratch removal, and deburring complete. Commentary: It's been over a month since I worked on the Horizontal Stabilizer. Partly due to weather, vacations, and other disctractions. But I also started losing some excitement because I hadn't flown since recieving my tailwheel endorsement way back in October. That changed a little over a week ago. I finally I finally got out again, this time with a different Citabria. Still haven't gotten to the point where they will let me solo, but I hope two within the next month or so. |
