I fiberglassed the side vent instert that I bought from Sonex LLC; they fit nicely in the Sonex-A model. As another builder has done, I mixed micro spheres in epoxy, and used it on the top side of the air intakes. This is supposed to provide a smooth transition for the air, so more air enters, an provides better cooling. It hasn't been sanded smooth yet in this picture. I sure hope it works.
