Finally! A solution to the binding bellcrank. A poster on VAF suggested using a piece of sandpaper taped to and wrapped around a dowel to polish the inside of the steel bellcrank. Less than thirty seconds with a piece of worn 80-grit sanding belt at 870 rpm and the bell crank works smooth as can be.
