Right Flap - Part 1 |
|
|
Today I caught the right flap up with the left by drilling the top skin to the skeleton/lower skin assembly. I then scored the vinyl on the rivet lines on the top and bottom skins. I'll remove the vinyl strips after fabricating the FL-706A and B to lessen the chances marring the bare surfaces. I then bent both FL-706B's according to the plans. Not yet having the FL-706A's fabricated or attached to the spar to check the bend angles, I applied some trigonometry to calculate the dispacement at the aft end of the plate. I then fabricated both FL-706A's from the supplied angle. I cut both the overall length and the width of the narrow leg by scribing the final dimensions on the part, then used the bandsaw to cut about 1/16" outside the scribed lines, then used the belt sander to grind the part to the final dimensions.
