I forgot to prep and prime the stall warning bracket when I was working on that system a few days ago, so I went ahead and took care of that. I still haven't heard from Van's on my main and nose rib questions, so I jumped ahead a little to the aileron brackets, which come in a sub kit with their own instructions. I inventoried the sub kit, and deburred the edges of the plates. The instructions don't mention doing this, but the plate edges were pretty rough from the punching operation. I first went all the way around each one on the belt sander, being VERY light on the radii to avoid changing the contour. I followed with a few passes on the scotchbrite wheel to get them satin smooth. Oddly enough, these exact same parts came pre-assembled on the non pre-punched wing kit I bought in 1999 for my Harmon Rocket project. |
