Part 1 - Miscellaneous Fuselage Tasks |
|
|
Raised fuselage up onto sawhorses, then shortened the fuselage stand legs by 12 inches and reinstalled the casters. This makes the fuselage much more accessible, and the stand itself more stable. Drilled bottom skin attach holes to #19 and deburred and dimpled them for #8 countersunk screws. Cleaned up and deburred flap pushrod holes. Drilled and deburred 3/4" holes in fuselage for wing conduits, and countersunk rivet holes and the one screw hole on each side of the fuselage for attaching the tank bracket reinforcement angles and spacers. Scuffed, cleaned, and primed F-796B, C, and D tank bracket reinforcement angles and spacers in preparation for final install. Also scuffed, cleaned and primed their mating surfaces on the interior and exterior of the fuselage. I’ll let the primer cure for a couple of days before final install. Scuffed, cleaned, and primed steel tank brackets, but won't final install until wings go on the last time. |
