Tail substructure ribs fab practice |
|
|
Practice working with channel stock. Went through a couple ways to bend the ends. Initially, tried hammering the end on the anvil portion of a vice. Then, tried using adjustable (crescent) wrench. Those two methods work, but don't seem to give a nice consistent result. So, I went out to Harbor Freight and purchased a metal brake for $35 bucks and produced great, consistent bends. So this will be my method of bendiing the ends of the ribs. Also, purchased a new band saw blade (ruined 2 so far) this one is 1/4 x .012 x 8 TPI. Cuts very nicely and straight, too. |
