Brief Description:    Misc finish work
This was the final weekend before my airworthiness inspection next Thursday. I still had quite a few things on my list to finish up, so I picked back up at the nose and worked on the backing plates to complete the spinner. Fortunately I had saved the pieces that were originally trimmed out when I made the main cuts, so I used those to make the backing plates. The contour gauge gave me a rough place to start, and with the bandsaw and Dremel I quickly got the pieces trimmed to final shape. After drilling the plates, I primed them and then riveted them onto the main hub.

After finishing up the spinner, I checked off a number of things on the list, to include:
• Installed the seat belts
• Checked and verified flap, aileron, elevator and rudder travel
• Final installed the alternate static switch
• Installed the battery retaining bracket
• Adjusted all of the cowling cam locks
• Lubricated all control bearings
• Added some zip ties to the magneto leads to secure them above the cylinder heads

Long day, but very productive. Tomorrow I will focus on fixing the brake leaks, finishing up the cowling work and hopefully get some avionics programming done.
