Last year when I ordered the avionics, the plan was to go for a certified WAAS GPS to compliment the G3X Touch. Well, as luck would have it, waiting a year meant that the GNS 400 was no longer available and I would have to upgrade to the GTN 625. Among other things, this meant that I would have to swap avionics trays--so that's where I started today. Easy enough...just remove a couple of screws and reinstall the new tray. The wiring will be a little bit more of a challenge. I decided to spend a little time looking over the avionics schematic to make sure I knew what needed to be changed. I still need to get a couple of things...D-Sub crimper, solder sleeves, etc...but with an hour or so of reviewing the plans, I think I'm at least ready to make the changes to the wire bundles...I think... |
