avionics access door & wd814 study |
|
|
Studied plans & dwgs for the Wd-814 windscreen support/roll bar. Layed up the rollbar for initial fit check. Will need some thin shims in a few spots. Have seen some other builders actually spread the weldment to make it fit the fuselage, but after some thought and discussion with another builder, I think it best to just shim the weldment. The plans speak to using shims to adjust fit and that seems a better route than spreading a weldment. Also, measured and planned an avionics access door. I cut out a door of .032" alclad, but may redo it with .063 sheet. With the .032 sheet, I will backrivet some stiffeners to it. I also cut out doubler strips to reinforce the F-866 bulkhead, but may redo those as well with .063 sheet. Will see once the stiffeners are riveted on. |
