Brief Description:    Canopy skirts
Well, obviously my brain wasn't in gear tonight. I've used up all my West Systems epoxy so I've started on the stuff given to me. I put 5 pumps of hardener and then 5 of resin. Ok so far, mixing mixing. Hmm looks darker than normal. Idly read the label while mixing (yeah, ok, it *was a little late!) notice it isn't West, its Ados. Ah, maybe that's why. Mixing mixing; WAIT is says 4:1 and not 5:1 like the West Systems. OH NO, I did 5 pumps of each. I've got an equal mix here and I've already mixed in a load of micro. Aw heck. What do I do? I can't leave it; with that much hardener in it thereaction will generate a HUGE amount of heat. So I thought ... AHA ... and spead it out over an old piece of stock skirt. Sweet, crisis averted.

Right, mix a proper batch. Which is when it occurred to me, yep, you're way ahead of me here; the pumps give the correct mix ratio and I just threw away a perfectly good mix. Dammit. Ah well, perhaps if I paid more attention to what i was doing then I wouldn't have wasted my time and a full pot mix like that. Never mind. Won't do that again. Just as well it wasn't something important, huh?

Anyway, the shape is getting close now and I reckon I might leave it a good 2-3 days to harden up and then perhaps do the first round of sanding. The surface is pretty rough and make that the lava fields in Hawaii look pretty smooth, so there's a fair bit of work involved. I'll get it smoothed down and then see where I'm at.
