Tailwheel tug bushings |
|
|
I made a pair of bushings out of thick-walled 3/8 inch ID 4130 tubing using a lathe and a cutoff tool so that at least 1/2 inch of the tailwheel bolt protrudes on each side so as to facilitate towing with a tug. I used a Grade 8 longer bolt than supplied with the tundra tailwheel and shortened it and drilled a 5/64 inch cotter pin hole so as to secure the castellated nut. I powder-coated the cutoff bolt end and the bushings prior to assembly. |
