I went throught the process of applying microballoons and sanding x 3 as well as filler primer application and sanding. After that was done, I drilled through the fairing into the boot cowl, taking care to be perpendicular to the cowl, not the fairing. I used countersunk screws since there is quite a bit of variance between the boot cowl angle and the fairing at the aft ends of the fairing.
