Spent the day updrilling the leading edge skin and adding the aileron and flap hinges. I left both halves of the hinges joined with the rod to help maintain a straight line and prevent any pre-load. Also confirmed with Kerry on the best way to drill and dimple the LE. There's lots of opinions on the web, but I thought I'd go to the source. His recommendation was updrill to #31 rather than #30, debur and dimple. No problem, since my drill set has all of the numbered bits. Now to start taking it all apart to do that nasty job of deburring. |
