Homemade Chocks & Remaking Parts |
|
|
Saw a builder at the ASA Fly-In last year that had made his own set of chocks from aluminum that he keeps in the plane. I found some online at various retailers and just didn't like the price so I pulled out a piece of leftover aluminum angle, cut and drilled lightening holes as well as a hole for attaching a small bungee cord. Much better than the chunks of wood I've been using here in the garage. They could probably be lighter and be fine. I need to go out to the hangar and grab one of the wheel pants to test to make sure they will clear it. I also started on remaking the wing attachment parts that I screwed up last year while drilling the main spar attachments. This is the outboard attach bearing block for the left wing. |
