(1) This is a magnified view of the edge of the unprepared metal. A macro image like this shows why edge preparation is so important.(2) The same edge after belt sanding.(3) And finishing with 400 grit emery. To the naked eye it's smooth, but this macro shot shows that it still requires finer polishing.
