Step 47 With Michael's help, torqued outboard main gear attach bracket bolts. Used a crowfoot to access nuts. Torqued nuts for the AN5 bolts to 140 inch-pounds but had to modify torque wrench reading to 130 inch-pounds due to 3/4" extension of crowfoot. The calculation is shown below for the record. Reseated bolts and torqued again. Installed HW-00003 plugs. Torque Wrench Adjustment: New wrench value = (T x L)/(L + E) T = 140 inch-pounds (desired torque) L = 8 inches (length of torque wrench) E = 0.75 inch (crow foot extension) New wrench value = (140 x 8)/(8 + 0.75) = 1,120/8.75 = 128 inch-pounds (rounded up to 130) Step 48 Removed supports from under fuselage. Step 49 Reinstalled outboard cushion clamps to center section. |
