Brief Description:    Continued Shaping Canopy Fairing
Didn't do anything during the week of Oshkosh and didn't mess with it much when I got back. Over the last week or so, filled low spots with Epoxy and microballoons, sanded, and filled some more. Applied several coats of Epoxy and sanded down to electrical tape. Removed first layer of electrical tape and it looks like the tape seam separated and sand marks and Epoxy got onto the canopy. In retrospect, I should have laid a single layer of electrical tape from side-to-side instead of splicing several pieces. Will have to wait until the last layer of electrical tape is removed and see what needs to be done to minimize the damage. (page 34-15, step 5).

Drilled through canopy pivot bolt center locations in fiberglass with #30 drill, then enlarged to 11/32". Using a dremel with a cutting bit, carefully enlarged holes until pivot bolts, washers, and spacers could be removed. (page 34-16, partial step 1).

Next step is to break the mold release and remove the canopy assembly.
