Riveted Rudder Stiffeners |
|
|
This entry covers about four day's of sporadic work. I "back riveted" the stiffeners to the rudder. This means I put the rivet gun to the inside of the skin, against the "shop head" of the rivet, while a metal plate sat on the outside of the skin, on the flush surface of the machined head. I then asked my local EAA inspector Gerald to take a look. He liked my work but asked me to tap a few more rivets just a tiny bit more. Though they were in tolarance, I could always make my work better, he said. So, I did just that. The next entry will be attaching the trailing edge strip. |
