Right Tank Inboard Rib |
|
|
"Moving right along. Today was an awesome day in the shop!!! Now that I'm finishing up the tanks, I'm finally getting in a groove with prosealing etc. - Got the right tank fully installed, sealed up with a fat fillet & all rivets encapsulations. Not a single bad rivet :-)... I completely prefer bucking rivets a apposed to squeezing 'em. - The only snag I had was needing to shave down the LE/ fuse attach angle to accomodate the rib rivets. - Pulled out the left tank again, prepped it for a nice fat fillet and completed the remaining encapsulations it had left the other day when I ran out of proseal. - Just by chance, i had ordered a couple extra tools from The Yard Store the other day when I realised my sealant gun retainer was MIA. I got this ""brass sealant spoon"". I love it! Its absolutely da bomb for forming fillets, spreading sealant and reaching up in the leading edge. I wish I had this all along!!! Looking back, I think its absolutely retarded that I messed with popsicle stick for anything other then mixing sealant. All you really need is a 2.5 oz sealant gun, a brass sealant spoon & cut off q-tips for encapulating rivets." |
