Fuel Tank Progress update |
|
|
Catching up once again... :-) Not much work January 9 - 19... Sealing the tank tends to demand a commitment every time you mix up some PPG liquid gold. Sometimes it mentally really hard to commit to 2-4 hours (usually 4). Anyway I have made some progress. - Finished hole deburing right tank. - Scuffed all of the Fay surfaces. - Kim gave me a hand dimpling & handeled the pneumatic squeezer like a champ at 8 months & ready to pop. :-) - Installed the stiffeners, drain & cap flange on the right tank skin. Not as pretty as the left tank. Oh well, it will work fine. - Started installing ribs in the left tank. I'm using about 50 grams of sealant per rib... Mo' better, right? My fillets are pretty darn fat!!!! I'm trying to avoid leaks & issues down the road as much as possible. I love my pro seal gun!!!!" |
