Trim Servo Pigtail |
|
|
This gets it's own log entry since I spent so much time on it! I didn't like the short little tail on the servo, so I decided to lengthen it to get my inline connector out of the elevator and into the open area under the vertical stabilizer. At first, I opened the servo to see if soldering the new wires into place would be possible. One look and I buttoned it right back up--didn't want to damage anything in there. So, I opted to bring my rusty electrical skills to bear on extending the pigtail. A simple task turned into a long one. Thankfully my Dad gave me some very helpful tips to make the job easier--thanks Dad! Pic1 shows the staggered connections soldered, heatshrinked, and doubled-back to take stess off of the joints. Pic2 is after the outer shrink is installed. Later, I'll install the inline connector. |
