Yep, I broke down and ordered another one. Despite the relatively hopeful response from Van's on the edge distance issue, I thought for a whle and decided that, well, I'm going to be flying in this thing sometime. And if all goes to plan I'll be doing aeros in it, too. :-) So, why skimp on quality? Also, for $17.54 plus shipping and VAT, even cost isn't stopping me getting a new spar. A quick visit to the Van's website, and I'd ordered it, plus some touch up paint for the powder coated parts in case they get scratched ($3.50) and some snap bushings in case I want to run some cable up to the top of the fin, for example... Two days later, and FedEx delivered a large tube to my doorstep. Two days for delivery from the West Coast of the USA to Wiltshire - no wonder shipping was 3 x the cost of the order itself. Don't tell my wife!
