Brief Description:    Trim and Fit J-Stringers
With the help of my wife drilling, I crawled between the wings and held the j stringer in proper alignment with the notches while she drilled and cleco'd along from the outside. Plans say to mark a line 3/8" from unbent edge of j stringer and (presumably) you are to line that up and match drill with the holes in the skin - However, that dimension is off by a good 1/6" and even at that the j stringer would be right against the rib. I simply centered the j-stringer in it's respective rib notch by "eyeball" and drilled away. After a quick google search I see that most others have enountered the same.

The plans also say to flush the end of the j stringer with the edge of the skin... my aforementioned google search also revealed that if you do this it will interfere with the underlap of future fiberglass wingtip. So, I held the j stringer back a bit to be flush with the edge of hte wing ribs instead.

Third picture below also reveals the vans standard corregated plastic "conduit" that I thread through the 3/4" holes I drilled in each rib.
