Make Door Template / Locate vent frame |
|
|
"Tonight I cut the opening in the door template I sized last night. I drilled a series of holes around the perimeter, cut it out with a cutoff disk in the dremel, then filed to size. It fits the door perfectly. Next, I measured the offset for the vent doors on the inside of the fuselage, positioned the frame doubler, and drilled one corner hole. I then moved the doubler to the outside of the fuselage, cleco'd that one hole, and used a carpenter square to align it with the upper fuselage rail (looks a bit off due to parrallax error). I then drilled the remaining holes thru the frame and fuselage. I will then remove this doubler, install my door template, mark and cut the opening, then rivet it all together." |
