Seat Pan Markup / Rough Cuts |
|
|
Started on the seat pan so that when I flip the fuselage back over right side up I can get right to it. Took a 3' x 4' sheet of .025 sheet stock. First cut it down to 40.84 by 32.5". Drew the lines on the stock, made a rough cut with the bandsaw, then used the Andy Snip to get it right on the line. Sanded the edges smooth; had a few splinters on the edge. Then, marked the centerline for symmetrical measurements, and the bend line. Had to wipe it clean and re-measure as I was off just a bit. From the centerline, measured the distances for the dual control stick cutouts. These will be in the shape of a triangle. You can kind of see the red markups on pic 1 below. Centerpunched the holes. I have a 4.5" and 3" hole saw set that will be used to cut the holes. Probably tomorrow. Also marked-out and made rough cuts for the seat belt attach access, as seen in the middle of the pic below. Have to polish up the cuts tomorrow. |
