Frustrating night. Needed to make two spacers, 1/8" x 2" x 1/2". Didn't have any 1/2 x 1/8 stock left. So, I had to cut down some leftover angle stock to make two spacers. Then, I moved on to two angle pieces that mate to the rudder block support angles. These are made from .060 stock (thick), with a 1/8" bend radius. I had some 1/4" diameter (1/8 radius) bar stock, so decided to cut off a piece to help with bending. Of course, this ruined my bandsaw blade. Bent one part by hammering the flat stock over the rod; this created a wavy line that took a long time to straighten out. Initially called it a night at this point. After walking the dog, I came back to try the 2nd piece. This worked out much better (not shown in picture). So, for 1.5 hrs, only made 4 easy (?) parts. |
