Cowl Paint, N-Numbers, Vertical Tip Paint |
|
|
Repainted the lower surface of the left cowl; gave it a 2nd coat yesterday, but somehow forgot one surface. Shot a 2nd clearcoat layer on the right cowl. Just need to let it set for a few days, wet-sand, then buff with compound. Applied N-numbers. I've had them awhile, but *legally* you're not supposed to apply them to an airplane until you receive the registration certificate from the FAA. I rec'd mine yesterday, so the numbers went on today. Nice job by Aircraft Engravers. Masked the vertical and horizontal fins. Cleaned the vertical tip with MEK & alcohol, then went over it with a tack cloth. Shot a good, no-run primer coat. Waited 1/2 hour, then applied the first color coat. Waited another 15 mins and shot a second colorcoat. Will just need to let it dry for a few days, sand, then start the clear-coat. |
