Engine Wiring |
|
|
Did most of the engine wiring today. I had ordered battery cable lugs last year, so had them on-hand. I also ordered two new lugs last week to fit under the starter bolts for grounding purposes. Hmmm.... I forgot that since last year, I had installed a master relay, so I would need MORE battery cable lugs. Rats. Now ANOTHER order.... Also purchased a battery cable crimping tool from Harbor Freight today; it's hydraulic based and actually does a decent job. The interchangeable dies, however, don't really reflect the cable ends, which can and do vary in thickness. Installed the ends I had and used heatshrink that was supplied with thelugs. Using adel clamps, I installed the filter capacitor and over-voltage relay to motor mount tubes. Ran most of the wires for each of these items. Made up a fusible link from 16 ga wire (main wire 12 ga) for the battery charging supply line. You can see it in the middle of the second picture. Enclosed it in a fiberglass sheath. Installed starter solenoid lines and alternator lines. Have not secured any lines to the motor mount yet, so it resembles a rat's nest. |
