Brief Description:    Firewall / Gascolator Stiffening
My gascolator bolts directly to the firewall, and, like most, it oil-cans a bit, as well as the gascolator itself flexing on the firewall.

I made up a stiffener plate of two .025 scraps of aluminum and cut a hole in the middle to go around the gascolator fuel pipe and mounting bolts.

Just laying the stiffener in place, it appears that it will help keep the gascolator from flexing, but the larger firewall area still oil-cans a bit.

Next, I'll reinstall the motor mount and see about adding a 1/8" piece of aluminum on the engine side to help minimize the oil-canning.
