Brief Description:    Pre-Wing Rigging
This next Saturday, June 4th is hopefully going to be wing-rigging day.

Since I was at somewhat of a stopping point on the cowl, I decided to get some stuff done in preparation for rigging.

First off, I pushed the bird outside and gave it a sponge-bath. The past few months have not been kind to the bare aluminum, even in the garage. I removed a winter's worth of dust and dead insect appendages.

Next, I removed the flap control rod that I previously installed - don't make this mistake. The mounting blocks and the brake & flap levers will interfere with drilling the main spar bolt holes.

I then removed the aft spar tunnel and associated fixtures.

Lastly, when I originally installed the flap control tube and brake lever, I missed the point in the plans about putting a nylon washer between the bracket and the handle to smooth-out the pivoting action. Since the handle was now removed, I installed the missing washer (bought it a few months ago) and safetied-it with a new cotter pin.
