Re-Set Air Cleaner / Cowl Clearance |
|
|
Marked the location of the new hole that will hold the air filter assy to the carb body. Drilled to 1/8", then to 5/32. Tapped with 10-32 tap. Had to enlarge the relief cut that I made last night to clear the mixture cable set-screw. Test fit the cowl. Still had interference. Noticed that I had installed the bolts holding the assy together with the nuts on the bottom side, and that they were riding on the cowl. I also noticed that the instruction sheet for the air filter showed the bolts in the head-down position. Re-positioned the bolts to match the instruction sheet. Also trimmed a bit off the leading edge of the filter "lid" that might have been interfering. After another re-fit of the cowl, there is now clearance such that you can press up on the bottom of the cowl before it touches the air filter. |
