Engine Work / Panel Work / H-Phone Jacks |

Basically good time spent futzing around. Did some bench cleanup, organization, searched for parts, etc. Trimmed the flywheel lock I purchased on Friday; it was for stock 6- or 12-volt VW engines. Evidently the AeroVee has a different sized flywheel / tooth pitch and would not accomodate the lock. Figured out how to use a non-standard lock location to lock the flywheel sufficiently for torquing to 227 ft-lbs. Installed the oil temparature mounting plate on the front of the engine; torqued to spec. Most of the time was spent working panel issues. I have finally decided on mounting the headphone jacks on the left and right side of the panel instead of on a separate sub-panel. This was somewhat critical on the left side, as space is at a premium, with panel mount rivets and the lower support bracket all in the way. Finally settled on a location and drilled the holes. Also decided upon placement for the auxillary audio input jack location. |
