Disassembly & Deburr TurtleDeck |
|
|
Lots of tedium; not much photographic. Disassembled all of the turtledeck structure. Once the formers were out, I played around a bit with the #5 former all the way at the back in order to get a better fit against the skin. After 3 tries, I'm relatively happy with it. Still may get the dimples, but, oh well. After the skin was removed, I re-positioned the #2, 3, & 4 formers on the longerons in order to up-drill, since it was such a tight fit doing it from underneath. MUCH easier this way. Don't have a picture of it, but once this was done, I cleco'd the upper end to the splice channel that's already riveted to the skins in order to up-drill the top clips. Riveted the fore & aft clips to the splice channel using the manual riveter, after deburring the clips & splice channel. Deburred some of the former edges. Deburred the right side skin and longeron. Replaced two rivets on the aft fuse that I must have missed; failed the fingernail test. |
