control system rigging and covering |

Michael, Jay, and Eric worked on applying 2" tapes to the horizontal stailizer and the elevator alone with some more rigging of flight controls. The main components for the flight controls are now reamed and installed, but no rigging has been accomplished yet. Still need some friction material for the flap handle, and much of the hardware will need to be replaced. It will all need to me disassembled later anyway to finish painting the front of the fuselage. They will remain in place until we can get the flaperons installed on the wings, and the elevator and rudder hooked up so we can evaluate their initial capability. We also discovered that the seats interfere with the flight control rigging significantly. We will have to think on that for awhile to come up with a good solution. The manual says to bend the rods more, but we are not convinced that is the best (or even a good) solution. |
