Sanding the canopy frame |
|
|
My canopy frame was originally powdercoated but there were many tiny imperfections coming to the surface. I decided to remove the powdercoat. I was going to change the color from white to black and I need to reduce the number of layers between the Sika adhesive and the bare metal. I tried Permatex gasket remover recommeded by others and it did not work. I then tried to sandblast with sugar sand and that would not even scratch the surface. I broke out the random orbital sander with 80 grit and it works. It is tedious but it works. I got about 2/3 of the way done today. |
