Made center spar for stabilizer. Cut blanks out of .040 for rear spar doublers. First blank I used the shears. Too much warping and twist in piece. Cut another 040 doubler blank with Olfa knife then coaxed break by using hand seamer to bend over the 40+mm wide piece. Came out pretty good. Did the second one the same way. Bent the doublers to the required angles. Took a lot of clamps on the large bending brake. The .040 is pretty thick stuff. I still had to carefully hit the doubler with a rubber mallet along the entire edge back and forth several times to get it to the correct 85 degree angle. Cleaned up the shop and did some organizing. |
