Brief Description:	Mobile power tools station, Part I
As I mentioned eariler, I got this idea from another RV builder. I'm very space challenged, so instead of dedicating valuable workbench space to my power tools I'm building a mobile platform that I can conveniently position anywhere. It will have a drill press, bench grinder, band saw and belt sander. Before I can build the table I need to know the size of the table top. I went to Sears and raided them for all the necessary power tools. I really really tried to pick up some used tools off of Craig's List, but a couple of months of constant checking didn't turn up anything acceptable locally. Once each tool was assembled I tried to arrange each one in such a way that would allow me full use of that tool, but still take up a minimum amount of table area. The plywood left over from the EAA workbench build is 33 in. X 44 in. After some maneuvering I came up with something that seemed to work. The final table top will be 34 in. W X 33 in. L. The height of the table will match the height of the EAA workbenches (33.75 in). A bit of CAD magic later I had everything laid out in Solidworks (except the castering wheels). If you look closely at the last photo you can see where I made outlines of the final position of the power tools. I cut all the detail parts from my remaining lumber. It'll all get assembled tomorrow.
