Build Table Tops for Priming |
|
|
After the debacle I had priming the rudder parts I decided to build some table tops out of wood and mesh. The reason I had such bad results was due to using a flat piece of plywood as a surface. The light parts were blown around because the spray hit the flat surface and spread out. A mesh surface will keep that from happening again. The plan was to build three table tops about the same size as the plywood sections (48 in. X 32 in.) I picked up six 1 in. X 2 in. X 96 in. pine and three rolls of 1/2 in. X 3 ft X 5 ft. wire mesh at Home Depot. You need six 48 in. sections and nine 32 in. sections of the 1 in. X 2 in. boards. Glue and screw together then roll the wire onto the table and staple. I managed to get two of them built and decided to defer the third because, frankly, these things are a PITA to build. The wire is difficult to unroll and straighten. If I really need a third I'll build it at some later date. I'll see how things go with just two for now. |
