There were too many flutes in the top wing rib to use the space between the existing 1.25" rivet spacing for installing K1100-8 nutplates. I decided to drill out every other existing rivet and use that hole as the 2.5inch spacing for fairing screw holes. Those #40 holes will get enlarged for the -8 screws. The nutplate attach rivets will wait until I pull the wings for the last time. All the nutplate rivets will miss any rib flutes.
