What a day. Vans returned the external steps with 1 1/4 inch extension welded on the steps' torque tubes. Recall that they were too short due to the matching fuselage floor rib being mounted in the wrong location on the quickbuild fuselage. I immediately went to work to fit the first one on co pilot side. Had to angle grind the end to match the 7 degree angle on the floor rib. Check. Reconfirm the location 8.75 inches from the F606 bulkhead. Check. Start to work on the UHMW mounting block next page.. |
