Door cut out re-sizing for even spacing. |

It is time to fill in the space around the doors to have an even gap all the way around. The door spring has an effect on the opening and closing a wee bit so I have the gap set at 7/64 -1/8 “to prevent the paint from chipping when the paint is added to the area. I will also radius the door and opening to also prevent chipping. I ran out of Quik Fair putty and thought about making my own brew. I put 2” of non structural resin hardener into the small container and added micro balloons until a bondo state slurry. I then did the same for the clear resin and got out the amount I needed then mixed the 2 slurry mixtures 2:1 as stated on the resin jugs and WOW it works great. The Quik Fair putty is workable in 4 hours the home brew I had to let set for over 12 hours to sand correctly. It also is very hard at 24 hours. |
