Turtleback outer skin prep |

Spent a lot of time visualising canopy latches. Cut out a pair of C-2 from 0.032" 4130, which looked good, but I later note they need to be 0.050" if they are to match CS-124, so these are just for fun and giggles. Cut out a C-2 from plans 1/8" 2024 T3, and note these are noticably stiffer. Cut out and prep EM-2 engine mount hardpoints. I only had enough 1/4" for one, so superglue together 2 bits of 1/8" for the other. Plan a shorter catch bolt, -9, for the aft C-8, due to the thinner 0.050" 4130 C-2 and figure out a spacer to put the C-8 in the right spot. Cut out interwall C-8 substitute from 1/8" 2024 T3, and prep. Cut mounting site into turtleback. Bend C-8 slightly to make bottom bit parallel to inner side of longerons. No idea if required, but put 1 x UND fore/aft over C-8 site on inside of turtleback around the bottom of the flange, and overlap 1/2" for 2 x BID, |
