Right Aileron hinges |
|
|
Trimmed layup. Check everything, and hinges and hinge pads are now all co-planar. Have decided the problem was caused by excessive clamping of the hard points. Could have been caught by CHECKING the result before applying the 1 x BID. Rejigged the Aileron in position rather carefully this time, and checked for a clean contact with the hinge halves. Removed aileron and applied the well-trusted Tarzan's Grip glue to the hinge faces. Aileron re-fitted, and hinge halves clamped in place with trimmed hacksaw blades poked through the hinges from the top surface. Left to cure for a few hours and removed Aileron. Mid hinge fell off. Remainder secured temporarily with hardware store rivets, 2 per hinge. Reglued mid hinge, rejigged Aileron and re-glued and clamped mid hinge. |
