Preparing for Elevator bottom skin layup |
|
|
Checked profile both elevators and trimmed some micro high points. Couldn't really see the sense of covering the elevators individually, so 5-min to table TE to TE 10mm apart, with block of taped insulation foam supporting the TE. Cut 4 x UNI 57 x 11.5" with aim of doing both layups on both elevators together. [Timewarp 10JUL15: 11.5" not enough for the overlap on the top layup. Had to recut 57 x 14". Cloth is only JUST wide enough, leaving a bevel on the opposite corners, with just misses the corner of the elevators. Maybe this is why the plans do them individually. Still would do it this way again.] Fill hinge cutouts with greased insulation foam. All ready to layup, but is a revolting day outside and the heater can't get the shed over 12C. Go and warm up with a nice cold beer. |
