Fit and drill forward fuselage sides, firewall and |
|
|
Today I had a productive day in the shop. I removed the forward fuselage sides and my wife helped me to flip the fuselage over in order to get a better angle and body position to complete today’s work. Although it is easier to work with the fuselage upside down, it was more difficult than I had expected to interpret the plans and then flip it in my mind to visualize the task. I pilot drilled and fit the forward fuselage side skins to the tail cone assembly. I also fit and pilot drilled the cockpit floor and the firewall upper and lower cross ties and then the lower firewall. I also up drilled all of the AN5 10R12 bolt holes in the engine mounts. I also test fit the upper firewall and filler neck which will take a little work to get it just right. Remember, the pics below are inverted. |
