Dimpling, countersinking Left elevator |
|
|
Today I dimpled all the ribs, the spar and essentially all the understructure for the left elevator. I also finished dimpling the elevator skin itself. There were areas that required countersinking because I could not fit the jaws of the yolk for the rivet squeezer between flanges of ribs. Also, I had a tough time dimpling the outboard last four holes for E-605pp to the skin but I eventually figured a way to do it with a plastic block to hold the female dimple die while a pounded on outside with the male dimple die using the spring shaft of the c arm and a rubber mallet. I was quite proud of myself on that one. Called it a day. No Pics today. Nothing exciting. |
